Break into left anterior descending coronary artery suggest myocardial bridging.
A 67 year-old woman presented with stable effort angina. A resting electrocardiogram was inconclusive. High-dose dipyridamole contrast-echocardiography shows normal left ventricular wall motion after 0.84mg/kg/6min dipyridamole. At rest a turbolent flow demonstrable by color aliasing, appeared in the territory of the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) during the diastolic phase.
متن کاملA Rare Case of Double Myocardial Bridges of the Left Anterior Descending Artery
Myocardial bridge is a benign congenital anomaly in which a segment of major epicardial coronary arteries descends into the myocardium for a variable distance. Myocardial bridge is most often single and located in the middle part of the left anterior descending artery. The presence of more than one myocardial bridge in coronary arteries is very rare. We present a patient with more than one myoc...
متن کاملEditorial: The role of bypass surgery in isolated left anterior descending artery stenosis or occlusion.
IN THIS ISSUE of Circulation, Lytle and coworkers' describe the results of aortocoronary bypass surgery after a mean follow-up of 5 l/2years in two consecutive series of 100 patients with isolated left anterior descending stenosis or occlusion. One group received saphenous vein grafts and the other left internal mammary artery grafts. Postoperative coronary angiography was carried out after a m...
متن کاملMyocardial Bridging of the Left Anterior Descending Coronary Artery: Depiction Rate and Morphologic Features by Dual-Source CT Coronary Angiography
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the depiction rate and morphologic features of myocardial bridging (MB) of the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) using dual-source CT (DSCT). MATERIALS AND METHODS CT scans from a total of 1,353 patients who underwent DSCT were reviewed retrospectively for LAD-MB. Seventy-eight patients were excluded due to poor image quality or poor enhancement of the coron...
متن کاملMyocardial bridging of the left anterior descending coronary artery and right coronary artery in a patient with mitral valve stenosis.
Myocardial bridging is defined as the intramural course of a major epicardial coronary artery, and is mostly confined to the left ventricle and the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD). Although it is considered to be a benign anomaly, it can lead to such complications as acute myocardial infarction, ventricular tachycardia, syncope, atrioventricular block and sudden cardiac death....
